오타 도메인 $240,000에 팔리다!!!

최근 도메인 시장에서 오타 도메인이 $242,400에 팔렸다고 합니다.
그러면.. 환율 따지면… 231,419,280원 덜덜덜…

과연 무슨 도메인이냐.
Mortgage.com 의 오타도메인인 Mortage.com 이라고 합니다.
mortgage는 우리나라로 치면 집대출(?)이랑 비슷한 용어입니다.
미국 예네들은 원래 쓰는 단어가 영어니까 주소에 단어 치는게 우리나라에서 검색엔진에 단어 입력하는것보다 더 쉽겠죠?

사람들은 도메인 시장이 이제 하향곡선을 그린다고 하지만, 그건 되어 봐야 아는것 아닐까요?
저도 오타 도메인을 좀 소유하고 있습니다만… 언젠간 저런 날이 오기를.. ^^

Typo domain sells for $240k

Mortage.com, a typo of Mortgage.com, has sold for $242,400.

The sale of Mortage.com tops this week’s sales chart at DNJournal. Although the typo is of a generic word, the buyer might still find legal challenges to ownership of the domain. Mortgage.com is the official web site of one of the world’s biggest mortgage companies, ABN AMRO.

Other domain sales of note: FreePicks.com expired and was auctioned by SnapNames for $91,250. Other expired domain auctions at SnapNames included BigBang.com for $30,050, LagunaBeachRealEstate.com (that’s a mouthful!) for $27,350, and AmericanXpress.com for $21,980. The last domain has a big price tag for a domain that would surely lose a UDRP challenge.

.co.uk continues to bring in some great sales. This week History.co.uk sold for ￡12,500 at Sedo. Another international domain, Traffic.ca, snagged 15,000 CAD. Financing.ca went for $12,000 USD at Pool, which is only fitting since Pool is based in Canada. But the Canadian party didn’t stop there…Pool sold a slew of .ca expiring domains including balance.ca, PlaneTickets.ca, HV.ca, Airplanes.ca, UD.ca, and on and on…

I found the sale of BaseballCap.com for $5,500 at Afternicinteresting. That domain has been on the featured showcase at Afternic for a long time. It appears that someone finally decided it was the right domain for them.
